Over the years, Prempeh College has been organizing annual speech days aimed at raising funds to support the college, awarding deserving students, awarding deserving old boys, graduating the completing class and also giving the students some kind of entertainment on such a day. This year is different since there would not be any speech day to be celebrated. However, the “Best Website of schools” nationwide is organizing a fun fair in place of the speech day.
"Ghana's best Website for Schools 2006" is to be celebrated on December 9.
The fun fair which is going to be so much educational is aimed at educating the student body and giving them something to cheer about. It is said that, “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” It would be uncalled for and very bad on the part of the website to realize that Prempeh guys who are called gentlemen in Ghana are named “dull boys.”
This year’s educational fun fair is the second to be held in the college in recent years. The most recent one was held in 2001.
Several sister schools have been invited to the occasion to make it a splendid and memorable one. Prempeh College does not want to be selfish so has included over 10 schools in her activities. The programme scheduled for the 9th December, 2006 will kick off just after dining hall or breakfast. This is to say that there would not be any inspection on Saturday. The SRC executives and prefects in general are helping to make this event a success in the annals of the college. In order to prevent any eventuality, the security on campus will be very tight.
On the morning of Saturday, sister schools such as YAGSS, St Louis, OWASS will gather at the premises of the college to participate in games. The games will comprise ludo, scrabble which will test how each school has mastered the English language, draft popularly called “dame,” tug of war, cards, Plays station 2, tennis, basketball, oware, blindfolding game to mention but few.
All these games are aimed at giving and bringing joy to the students who have faced a lot of difficulties this term stemming from the NAGRAT strike action. It caused a lot of depression among students and parents. These activities will help erase the memories of the strike action that so much marred the academic calendar.
There would also be poetry competitions, debates, quizzes and a seminar on AIDS and leukemia by the Danny Whyte Foundation. Also in attendance will be book exhibition and food fair. The lists of companies that will be displaying their wares or items include:
Dimlite
Coca Cola
EPP Book Services
Indomie
Nestle Milo

Danny Whyte Leukemia Foundation
FFLI (Foundation for Future Leaders)
SIFE (Students in Free Evangelism)

Some of these companies will have their items displayed at the Forecourt of the college spanning from the Pearson lawns to the Ramseyer area closer to the administration block. Other items especially the food will be displayed at the park behind the main classroom block that has been hosting speech days of late.
There will be canopies in place which will shelter the various games that will be located at the forecourt.
