Nana Yaw Prempeh (Pearson), winner of the form 1 category
Two boys are going become rich at Closing Assembly tomorrow. They have been declared winners of the forsm 1 and 2 categories of
the essay competition.
A record 1000 essays were submitted by 500 people which gave the English Department tutors a headache.
Approximately 80 of the 500 students deviated from the topic and wrote "nonfa," so their essays were eliminated outright.
In the end, Ernest Sowah of Serwah House won the form 2 category while Pearson's Nana Yaw Prempeh won the form 1 category.
Sowah's recollection of "the most spectacular scene he has ever witnessed on television" became the most distinguished writing.

The
English masters became so impressed and liberated by the boys writing that they passed it among all the teachers. All the teachers grabbed it and
read it with pleasure.
That essay is very powerful for reasons that will be explained here later.
The college authorities decided to let the boys read their essays in the presence of the whole school at assembly this morning. They will
repeat the readings at Closing Assembly tomorrow.
Prempeh.org will then award them cash that will cover their tuition and fees for the entire 2007/08 academic year. This presentation will
be made by the Headmaster after the essay readings.
