The Writers & Debaters Club represents Prempeh in the annual National Debate Competition. Trained by Mrs. Comfort Otoo, the debaters won the 2004 National Independence Debate Competition. Prempeh College was in 2006 crowned the nations "Best Debate School" at an awards ceremony in Accra.

The national champion debate team receives certificate of achievement for winning the National Independence debate competition. Congratulations, again, to Papa Yaw, Gyeabour, Kharliq Abdul and William Demetiah.
